You know it's true: playing in a band is fun. But playing in a REALLY BIG band is downright awesome. And that REALLY BIG band experience is what BandFest is all about. It's also a chance to play with others who share your passion for making music, and a chance to compare notes with those who have chosen the same instrument as you to express that feeling. Chances are, you will find quite a few of them at this year's BandFest.
The program this year is similar to what has attracted musicians from all over the province in the past, providing many opportunities to expand your horizons as an instrumentalist. This year's talented directors have the capacity to either affirm or change your concept of what band music is all about.
And naturally, we have provided a number of breaks and social opportunities, because such a gathering of musicians provides some wonderful company and interesting conversation!

Ken Foote - music educator, trombonist and longtime supporter of Nova Scotia bands: having joined us as guest conductor in the past, Ken returns to share his experience and musicianship with us.
Maggie Helms - clarinetist, band director, instrument repair technician: Maggie will be returning this year to offer us her outstanding leadership from the baton!
